Trend Alert ~ Relaxed Styling

There are a few unlikely alliances for Fall 2025 style and product innovation trends.  Hair trends are at opposite ends of the style spectrum, ranging from dramatically coiffed to understated and undone.  While ingredient technology and consumer demand for multifunctional, time saving products make for a perfect pairing.

This season, styling becomes the focus with precision crafted updo’s starring opposite low maintenance relaxed waves.  Then there’s the battle of the parts.  Short boxed bobs with side parts compete with long sleek styled hair with center parts.  But the partnership between polar opposite hairstyling and analogous product trends make for some off the charts amazing looking hair.

This season the antithesis to perfected coifs is the current Relaxed Styling trend with loose, purposely disheveled waves.  Relaxed Styling is very popular due to its ease of styling execution and casual “just woke up” look.  Plus matching the overall non-conformist attitude of this look, is its extremely stress-free styling routine and great results on 2nd day or late in the day hair.

Relaxed Styling can be simple for guests to recreate with the right products and process.  We recommend starting with clean air dried hair or late in the day or 2nd day hair.  This helps give the hair a little texture, advantageous when creating this trend.  Next, reach for a dry shampoo or hair refreshing product to pull off this easy styling hack.

So we are recommending both our P2 by Philip Pelusi RefresHair Texture Treatment and Tela Beauty Organics by Philip Pelusi Dri Shampoo for texture and hair refreshing.  There is a bit of functionality crossover but also some definite difference between these two products.

P2 RefresHair Texture Treatment, being water-free, volatilizes completely and carries off sebum and up to 50% of surface debris and other residues left behind by styling and conditioning products.  It also refreshes hair scent with our exclusive allergen free White Tea and Thyme fragrance, making it a win-win for revitalizing hair.  P2 RefreshHair Texture Treatment also contains Sunflower Seed Extract, a natural UV Protectant, Fennel, Asafetida, and Mushroom Extracts to add strength and body where hair may be damaged.

P2 RefresHair is a lightweight, multitask spray that leaves hair shiny, full of body, with none of the dusty residue of powder dry shampoo products.  Mist on and brush or scrunch through hair.  P2 RefresHair also works great as a setting, holding and heat protecting spray plus you’ll get a little hold from this product.

Our Tela Dri Shampoo is a powder-free alternative to dry shampoos.  We created this easy to use spray-on version to help eliminate surface debris, add texture and freshen hair’s scent with Organic Lavender.  Plus, powerful antioxidants Organic Reishi Mushroom, Oolong Tea, Chinese Foxglove and White Tea help prevent hair color fadage.  Mist on and scrunch or brush through the hair until the proper level of texture is achieved.  It has a very light hold, remaining soft and pliable.

One of the easiest ways to create the Relaxed Styling look is with a few big bobby pins or electric roller clips, if those are more readily available.  Then working in sections around the head, lightly mist 1 – 2 times with either product, then lightly twist the section and wrap it around into its own loose bun.  Then, pin the end into place or secure with a big electric roller clip.

Keep in mind the smaller the section the tighter the waves.  Also the thicker the hair or the more layers you have, the more sections you will need to create.  Also if you want a little height and volume, create those sections to sit right down the center top of your head, putting one in the crown and 1 or 2 more in on the part line and front of your hair.

Tela Dri Shampoo and P2 RefresHair both dry in just a few minutes, so put on your makeup or eat breakfast to multitask while these sections dry.  Remove the clips and you are off to a great day or evening with loose relaxed waves.
