Philip Pelusi Trend Tip – Living Coral Hair

Posted on Posted in Trend Alerts

What hues come to mind when thinking of living coral in the ocean or the sky at sunset?  That beautiful pink-orange sorbet color, intense but soft.  Living Coral is Pantone’s 2019 Color of The Year and is also one of this Fall’s most popular hair color trends.  Seen on stars like Rhianna, Julia Roberts and Busy Philipps, its fresh and new and depending how warm or cool the color is steered, it can be worn on just about any skin tone.

But because this is a double process color, lifting color first then toning with the Living Coral hue, hair will need some extra TLC to help maintain the pigment.  Enter today’s skin care technology via hair care to help out!  And as always, Philip is way ahead of the trend curve having put skin care ingredients into his proprietary haircare products since day one!

For example, Ceramides, once only used in face and neck treatments, can be a huge advantage in helping lock in color molecules and help protect the integrity of the hair.  Philip’s proprietary Hydro-Charged Pelusi Ceramide Complex, Patent Pending, helps rebuild, strengthen, moisturize and seal in color.  It’s present in all P2 by Philip Pelusi Ultimate Shampoos, Conditioners and Smart Styling Treatments and benefits all hair textures.

Additionally, the skincare moisture binding powerhouse Hyaluronic Acid, now being touted by some as a newfound ingredient, was almost 50 years ago put in our P2 Deep Hydrating Hair and Scalp Treatment and P2 Lite Leave In Conditioner to help improve the condition of the hair and scalp.  Hyaluronic Acid draws and binds moisture to whatever surface it has been applied to, meaning it can be a huge moisture replacement tool for double processed hair such as in the Living Coral Hair Color trend.

Ultraviolet Light Filters are another category of ingredients once only thought of for preserving the skin on the face and body.  But hair can get a sunburn just like the skin, causing dryness, color loss and breakage.  UV rays degrade the hair fabric creating potholes through which color molecules can escape.  So why reserve daily sun protection for the face or body only?

There are Ultraviolet Light Filters in every Philip Pelusi product making them a must for anyone investing in a color service.  Specifically, our P2 Potion contains Philip’s proprietary Pelusi Matrix Blend of 6 UV Filters, Matricaria, Asafetida, Horseradish, Sage, Blackberry and Grape Seed, that also run throughout many other products in Philip’s P2 line.
